A bit about Meg

I was born and bred in the Lake District. I grew up enjoying many sports, and exploring the mountains and lakes in as many ways as I could. I have always been fascinated with the workings of the human body, what makes us the individuals we are, and why we all move differently.

I found CrossFit at the end of my first degree in Exercise Physiology and have competed at regionals and the games over the last 6 years. I believe that being a competitive athlete doesn’t automatically make you a great coach. This is why I have always invested in education as well as experience.

After completing my masters in Physiotherapy there were too many questions left unanswered as to how we as therapists can truly prepare clients for the demands of their sports/ hobbies.

In terms of ‘return to sport’ there was a gap in my knowledge from acute stage rehabilitation to performance. There were too many hows and whys - this is what lead me to study the RedPill mentorship.

I have coached in CrossFit gyms around the world for 6 years and I would like to think I understand the sport from both a health and wellbeing level up to an elite performance standpoint from my own competitive years.

And why coaching?

I love people and I’m fascinated with movement so it’s a no brainer. I revel in getting to know clients, finding what makes them tick, and helping them explore what they are capable of. Improving others movement patterns to allow them to train/compete/move more efficiently I value as a priority.

What are your values as a coach?

Communication, honesty and establishing the drivers. Providing a safe environment for clients to talk openly I think allows for a strong coach-athlete relationship. Knowing what drives an individual serves as a good foundation to get the most out of their training.

What do you hope your future as a coach will look like?

I really enjoy working as part of a team that allows for professional development. I want to keep progressing as both a coach to athletes and as a 1:1 therapist whether that be to help movement dysfunction or developing skills such as muscle ups.
